About ADVANCE
Initiated at Eastern Health, ADVANCE is a multidisciplinary educational platform dedicated to elevating anaesthesia education and practice through collaboration and innovation.
I founded ADVANCE in 2022 with a simple goal: to bring together clinicians from anaesthesia, surgery, perioperative medicine, pain management, critical care, and other specialties to foster meaningful dialogue, collect real-world data, compare practices and share practical insights. My hope is that ADVANCE will help keep anaesthesia education holistic, relevant, and closely connected to patient outcomes.

Our Approach
Anaesthesia is inherently multidisciplinary.
High-quality perioperative care, pain management, critical care, and surgical decision-making all rely on close collaboration between healthcare professionals.
ADVANCE champions this integrated approach by encouraging active participation from anaesthetists, surgeons, physicians, intensivists, pain specialists, and other experts.
Through interactive discussions, peer-to-peer learning and open sharing of practical troubleshooting strategies, ADVANCE uncovers practice variations and divergent perspectives that may not be captured in formal guidelines. The platform enables the identification of trends, knowledge gaps, and best practices—all with a focus on refining care practices.
By empowering multidisciplinary engagement, ADVANCE is helping shape the future of anaesthesia education and patient care. Work from ADVANCE will go toward:
- Analysis of real-world practice patterns
- Identification of educational gaps requiring targeted CME interventions
- Contribution to registries and research databases
- Evidence-based recommendations for future guideline development
